Wearing face masks is now optional and we continue to recommend riders to wear masks.
School buses play an important role in America’s education system each day by transporting kids to and from school. Sonoma Valley Unified School District is pleased to announce we will be offering bus transportation for the 2023/24 school year. Home-to-school or school-to-Home bus transportation is provided within their attendance zones for all school children who live beyond walking distance. Parents who wish to enroll their children in a school outside of their attendance zone must provide their own transportation.
All school bus drivers will meet both state and school district standards to qualify as bus drivers. The safety of students and staff is a primary goal of the District. Therefore, all school buses will comply with applicable laws, regulations and inspection requirements. All students transported on a school bus will be under the authority of and responsible to the driver of the bus. All students will conduct themselves in a cooperative manner. Any student who does not conduct herself/himself appropriately will be subject to disciplinary action.
Due to a bus driver shortage, we are not able to add any more buses or routes until we can hire additional drivers and train them. We continue to actively recruit drivers, and if you know of anyone who might be interested.
