Inclement Weather Procedures
A designated announcement time is not possible due to unforeseen inclement weather conditions. School districts in Montague County communicate together with area emergency weather responders to closely monitor the conditions. The Superintendent will announce the closing of school, delayed start time, or an early
release as soon as possible.
In the event of a closing or delayed start, notice will be broadcast/distributed as follows:
1. Media outlets:
Radio: Bowie radio station KNTX 1410 AM
Television: Wichita Falls stations KFDX-3, KAUZ-6

2. Parent notification using the Principal’s Remind Text
For a delayed start: School usually starts at 10:00 a.m. Busses run approx. 1 hour before the designated school start time.
In the event of a need for an early release due to inclement weather, the school will notify parents so that they will have the option of picking up their students or
making sure that someone will be home when the bus arrives.
