ASSESS

The ASSESS component of the ASCA National Model consists of the recommended tools to assess program effectiveness through program assessment and school counselor assessment and appraisal. Results ultimately determine how the school counseling program impacts students.

School counselors share results from data collected during the year to demonstrate counseling program effectiveness, educate the community about the importance of supporting students' academic achievement, social/emotional awareness, and college and career readiness, and provide evidence that supporting a comprehensive school counseling program is proven to increase student achievement, increase student attendance, and reduce the number of behavioral problems within the school.
