Before completing my Masters to become a Reading Specialist, I taught in the classroom for 19 years. I have taught PK, 2nd and 3rd. I love being a Literacy Coach. I love helping teacher provide meaningful experiences for students to engage with books. My goal is to help every child learn to enjoy reading.

I was previously a Special Education Teacher at Southampton Elementary and Redd Elementary. I later obtained my Masters in Reading Education in 2013. I worked as a Reading Specialist at Surry County Public Schools from 2013-2015. I started here at Woodville Elementary School as a Reading Specialist in 2017.
