Repetition is the Key to Learning.

In any area of life, repetition is the key to mastering new skills. Some skills can easily be mastered after practicing a few times while other skills can take several weeks. In the special education classroom, repetition is a key component to success for all of my students.

Each and every one of my students is different and unique. They are all working towards different goals, all on different levels, and all at their own unique pace in my classroom. One thing that they all have in common though is that they all have a set routine upon entering my classroom that requires a repetition of skills every day. For a reading routine example, one student might work on letters of the alphabet every day, another may work on letter sounds, while I have others working on sight word flashcards at a variety of levels. For the area of mathematics, I have a student working on shapes, another working on counting and skip counting, while others work on different levels of addition and subtraction.

No matter what level a student is on or what their learning pace is, repetition is key to gaining new skills.
