NCMC Holiday Hoops 2020 Canceled
Launch the media gallery 1 playerLadies and Gentlemen, at a special meeting of the Holiday Hoops Steering Committee held earlier this evening, the Committee voted to cancel the 2020 High School Holiday Hoops. It is with great disappointment that we had to reach this decision but with the increasing number of cases of COVID in Grundy and the surrounding counties coupled with equally high numbers in the counties of Missouri and Iowa where high school teams were coming from, we felt it was the only right decision to make.
We are deeply sorry with this announcement but felt we could wait no longer to allow you the opportunity for rescheduling of games and there are now 55 schools looking for additional games. We are so very sorry about everything else you are experiencing.
We hope and pray that this Pandemic will end soon but each of us was fearful that the cases will continue to grow and with our very best efforts to protect student-athletes, coaches, officials, and fans, that this was the only way to proceed.
Please share our disappointment with your athletes, we know they want 2020 to offer some positive news. We wish you the best of luck as the season tips off and we hope you are able to complete the season without incident.
The committee is already discussing 2021 and we look forward to having you back at Holiday Hoops.
