Junior High Girls Basketball Travels to Kahoka Tonight to Battle the Indians

Best of luck to our Girls Junior High Basketball Teams as they travel to Kahoka this evening to battle the Clark County Indians. Tip-off is at 6:00 pm. Go get em, Lady Midgets!

As a reminder, the Clarence Cannon Conference and Clark County R-1 have different rules. Plan ahead of time and honor the fan guidelines set out by the hosting school. You can find their fan guidelines below. For Middle School activities, each player will have 2 tickets.

Clark County R-1 and the Clarence Cannon Conference have adopted a standardized set of restrictions for the upcoming basketball season. Each participant and coach is limited to four spectators per contest held at the High School and two per contest held at the Middle School. Players, cheerleaders, and dance team members will be provided tickets for each contest that must be filled out and presented when paying. Spectators are required to fill out their name, phone number, email address, and the participant that provided the ticket. This information will be kept for 2 weeks in case spectators are involved in contact tracing. Spectators are allowed to stay for all contests scheduled for that day. If tickets are provided to fellow students, those students must sit with the adult associated with each participant. There will be no designated student section for any contest. Tickets will only be given to student/athletes who are participating. For example - JV basketball players will not be given tickets for a varsity game.

While the District understands the vital role that school events play in the community social structure, the foremost goals of the upcoming months are to continue to allow face-to-face educational instruction and continue to participate in as many school activities as possible. Video camera installation is scheduled to allow anyone with internet access the ability to stream all contests hosted at the High School. Additionally, all Clarence Cannon Conference road games can be accessed, as well as the Highland and Palmyra tournaments. This is available for a small monthly fee paid to the video provider. More information will be made available once the installation is complete.

Clarence Cannon Conference Guidelines: Clarence Cannon Conference Participation Standards Winter 2020-2021

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the upcoming winter sports season, the

Clarence Cannon Conference member schools have agreed to the following attendance and

participation standards at conference events:

1) Participants will receive four (4) tickets each for family and friends

2) No pep band

3) Cheerleaders will be allowed to attend away games at the school's discretion.

4) There will be no student sections

The goal of the Clarence Cannon Conference participation standards is to maintain the health

and safety of all participants and spectators. This is not an exhaustive list and there might be

additional steps in each school, and city, to help prevent the spread of viruses. Even when taking

precautions there will still be a risk of transmitting illness. The conference member schools

understand that local, state, and national health guidance may require changes to these

participation standards at any time.
