Calling all young athletes in Pasadena ISD!

In Pasadena ISD, educators keep communities and classrooms linked by showing their unwavering commitment and innovation in providing students with ongoing learning opportunities, mentorship, guidance, and an attitude of excellence. However, for Pasadena ISD, it's vital that we not only highlight our teachers but also spread the knowledge of the ones who paved the way for the students who are proud to be Pasadena ISD students.

Teacher Appreciation Week began Monday May 6th- 12th, and as celebrations continue on through the week, annual deals from small companies, businesses, and restaurants want to offer all educators some love with free perks and items throughout the month.

ConocoPhillips has teamed up with the Houston Astros to recognize six outstanding teachers in the Houston area during baseball season. Through the selection process, teachers were nominated and subsequently chosen based on various criteria, such as dedication to educational achievement, non-traditional teaching resources, commitment to academic advancement and for Pasadena ISD elementary teachers Demetria Herrera and Lauren Palos do just that.

Earlier this month, several Pasadena ISD robotic students competed as Team 231 High Voltage, the district's robotics team. As they competed in various competitions, preparation came at a quick pace. Competing over several competitions and earning multiple awards, Team 231 High Voltage brought a spirit and determination like no other as they took on competitors around the globe as their season got more and more intense.

Pasadena ISD held its annual Vanguard Community Service Awards this past Tuesday during the district's monthly board meeting, honoring students who've served the Pasadena community through volunteering. For Pasadena ISD, the reality of volunteering and leadership go hand in hand, and the students who go above and beyond giving back to their community should be honored and celebrated as their efforts have benefited those around them.

A public informational meeting will be held by the Pasadena Independent School District on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, to seek public comments on the needs and use of federal funds within Titles I, II, III, and IV.

With a search state-wide, Pasadena ISD is proud to announce the selection of three teachers being honored at this year's Teacher of the Year ceremony in hopes of becoming winners for the district.
