Progress reports available  Thursday

Progress reports will be available Feb. 9. It  is critical that families support students by ensuring they do not have any missing assignments. Missing assignments, which are not submitted, can result in a lower overall grade. The best place to do this is in Skyward Family Access.

How to Prepare

• Identify missing assignments in the Skyward Gradebook. This quick video tip will show you how.

• If you cannot login to the OCPS Parent Portal and enter Skyward Family Access, please submit an OCPS Parent Portal Concerns Form.

Making choices for next school year

The first weeks of February are a crucial time for families to begin making decisions about where their child will go to school next year and what courses middle and high school students will take. This week will focus on choosing a school.

What are my options for the next (2022-23) school year?

Here are the most common options.

Stay at your zoned OCPS school

OCPS students who are currently enrolled at their zoned school can return there for the next school year or if entering grade 6 or 9 can register at their zoned middle or high school. Find your zoned school.

Transfer to an OCPS school with available capacity

A Controlled Open Enrollment Capacity Transfer allows a student to transfer from any school, whether it is an OCPS school or not, to a school that has available capacity.  View the list of available schools for the 2023-24 school year (as of Feb. 1, 2023).

Apply for an OCPS Magnet Program

OCPS students can apply for magnet programs each with their own unique focus. To learn more, visit the virtual magnet fair.

Apply for  Orange County Virtual School

OCPS students can apply to enroll in the Orange County Virtual School full-time or part-time. Students will attend class online from their home. Applications open in mid April.

Enroll in OCPS Alternative Education Programs

(high school only)

OCPS has four unique school-to-work programs that offer non-traditional options for students to attend classes and work.  Visit the website to learn more.
