*As noted in the Memorandum of Understanding with the CTA and the district. This change of days will not impact those teachers planning to be off on the teacher workday due to the extra planning day(s) they may have worked over the summer.
Superintendent Jenkins previously waived the Monday, Nov. 25 make-up day, so the Thanksgiving week break remains intact for families and employees.
Dr. Jenkins was only able to waive one of the two instructional days missed during Hurricane Dorian because there were not enough instructional minutes in the OCPS school year to waive more than one day. However, please keep in mind that hurricane season does not end until Nov. 30, and if another make-up day is needed, Nov. 25 is the next prioritized day to be used.
The superintendent has granted discretionary leave with pay for Tuesday, Sept. 3. ALL employees have been excused from making up this day. If employees have submitted short-term leave for Tuesday, Sept. 3, they can remove this entry through myOCPS. This will replenish their leave balance.
10-Month employees
10-month employees have been excused from making up Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019. These employees must report to work on the first prioritized bad weather make-up day, Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019, for the instructional day missed on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
12-Month employees
12 month employees have been excused from making up Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019.
