Partnering with Academy Sports + Outdoors, 10 OCPS teachers received a $300 gift card to purchase physical education supplies for their schools.
Bo Outlaw, a former NBA player, attended the event to offer his thanks to teachers for all they do for their students every day.
“Academy Sports has done a great thing and I’m happy to be a part of making a difference in our schools. It will help them purchase supplies that people do not always think about,” Outlaw said. “Academy is not here just to sell to the community, but to serve the community too.”
Empty shopping carts quickly became filled with all types of balls: kickballs, tetherballs, soccer balls, basketballs, baseballs; as well as pickleball and badminton sets, volleyball nets, bats, shade tents, tumbling mats and so much more. Teachers were excited for their students to begin using the new equipment.
Additionally, Academy is offering all teachers and school employees a 10% discount for their entire purchase until Sept. 6, both in-store and online at Academy.com.
