Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System
Serving Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Sumter Counties
The
Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System (FDLRS) provides
diagnostic and instructional support services to district exceptional
student education programs and families of students with
exceptionalities statewide. The FDLRS Action Resource Center is part of a
statewide network of nineteen Associate Centers. The Center includes
specialists in the areas of Child Find, Human Resources Development
(HRD), Parent Services, and Technology.
The purpose of
the FDLRS Action Resource Center is to provide the following services
and programs for individuals working with students with disabilities,
families and support agencies:
- Assist in the
location, identification, evaluation and initiation of appropriate
education services for children and youth who have special or unique
needs
- Provide professional development opportunities
about effective instructional strategies and service delivery models for
children and youth who are exceptional or have unique needs
- Assist
districts and families who have children who are exceptional or have
special or unique needs to develop effective partnerships allowing
shared responsibility to improve the education of all children and youth
- Assist
and support districts and families of students who are exceptional in
the appropriate use of assistive, instructional and communications
technologies
