Please allow me to introduce myself and share with you my qualifications and goals for this school year. My name is Jessica Castine, and I have been teaching English at Northeastern Clinton Central School since 2004. I hold certification as a Secondary Education English Teacher, grades 7-12 with a 5-6 extension, and a Literacy Specialist, grades 5-12. So far, I have taught English 7, 8, 8H, 9, 9H, 10, 11, 11H, and 12—including journalism and speech and debate courses—and AP English Language and Composition. Currently, I teach ninth and tenth graders in the high school.

I look forward to a rewarding, fun, and productive year. I strive to help students work to exceed their potential in order to leave my classroom with the skills and knowledge necessary for future success. Success, however, can only be achieved when both students and teachers work together toward a common goal. To that effect, I make myself available before school, during all prep periods, and during lunch. Students are always welcome to come into my room to make things up, improve assignments already submitted, or simply to get work done for the next day. Sometimes students will be "forced" to spend time with me in order to ensure they are on a path toward improvement. They don't usually complain, however, because they know I'm looking out for their best interests, even if it involves them having to get some work done. I offer ample opportunity for all students to work toward success!
