Nettleton Public Schools is aware of a post circulating on social media that has caused concern at Jonesboro Public Schools. We are working closely with Jonesboro Police Department. There is NO evidence that this originated from a JPS student or from a JPS campus. It has been confirmed that this is actually an issue in another state with a suspect in custody. We will continue to keep you posted on any further information.

Congratulations to Brooke Brewer from STEAM, selected as Gr8 Acts of Kindness winner from KAIT8 and First Community Bank. After watching a segment about how a teacher had impacted her students on World News Tonight, Fillip Mull told his mother, Pam Knowlton, that "they are talking about Ms. Brewer," and they wrote in her nomination. We are so grateful for teachers like Ms. Brewer, who showcases what doing "Whatever It Takes" means.

Nettleton Public Schools has been awarded the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Grant for the 2021-2022 School year for our elementary, intermediate, and junior high school students. This grant provides students with fruit or vegetable snacks 2-3 times per week. We are thankful for our Child Nutrition Director, Dawn Ragsdale, and our food service workers dedicated to our student's health.

A reminder that Parent-Teacher Conferences are this Thursday, October 21st. Each campus has early dismissal at 12:30 pm. Teachers will contact parent(s)/guardian(s) to schedule conferences. Please contact your campus for additional questions and/or details.

Congratulations to Shelly Murray, Interventionist at UHSMA, who was selected as the KAIT8 Teacher of the Month! Anchor Jurnee Taylor and Kim Hauge from Farmers and Merchants Bank made a surprise visit to present her with the award and a gift. We are thankful for such a supportive community that values our educators. We are honored to have teachers like Mrs. Murray serving our students.

Nettleton Public Schools is proud of the legacy that has been built in its 125 years. Alumnus Craig Miller (Class of 89) composed and performed with the Chieftain Lane Revival, a tribute to honor our school in the celebrations of 125 years of tradition and excellence.
