Welcome to 5th grade Band.  I have been teaching Instrumental Music in this district since 2003.  I currently teach Band at Columbia, Mukilteo, Serene Lake, Picnic Point, Horizon, Fairmount, Odyssey, and Lake Stickney Elementary schools.  I also teach Music and Technology at Columbia

I grew up in Pullman WA and attended WSU. I have been playing instruments since I was in 4th grade.  I participated in the Cougar Marching Band and even marched in the Rose Bowl Parade In Pasadena California.   

I met my husband in college and moved to Everett in 2001.  I have 3 beautiful daughters who also love music.  My oldest currently plays mellophone in the Kamiak Show band and the Trumpet in Chamber Winds (the top band at Kamiak).  She will be going to Paris, France this year. My middle daughter plays clarinet in the Olympic View Middle School 8th grade Band.  My youngest is in the 6th grade band at Olympic View and she plays the flute.

Learning to play an instrument can be very exciting and also difficult.  It takes patience and practice.  I will teach you the very basics and by the end of the year, you will be able to play many different songs.  You will also be ready to join the Middle School bands where you will have the opportunity to travel and participate in parade performances.  You will have a lot of fun if you stick with it.
