Hello!

My name is Anne Kreider-Hughes. I have been teaching Band and Orchestra for twelve years, and this is my fifth year at Voyager Middle School and I absolutely LOVE my job.

I started playing trumpet when I was in the fourth grade, and I knew by the time I was in 7th grade I knew that I wanted to be a band teacher. I loved the experience of music as being part of a community, something greater than myself, and being able to express myself in a way that people could understand universally. 

I studied Music Education at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and my Master's Degree in Teaching. Throughout my collegiate experience, I had the opportunity to learn ALL instruments, but focused my studies in brass, percussion, and conducting.
