BA Math, Secondary Education MA Integrating Technology in the Classroom

Mr. Binz

After going to Woodinville High School I attended Augustana College (now Augustana University) in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  While there I majored in both Math and Education and gained a Physics minor.  I graduated in May of 1999, but student taught in the fall of 2000 to finish out my education degree.  I student taught Calculus and Algebra II/Trig at O'Gorman High School.  After Student teaching and securing my education degree I made my way back to the Northwest where I worked at Nintendo for the holiday season.  During that time I applied to Kamiak and started my teaching career in January of 2000.

Since then I have taught an array of classes which include Integrated Math, Advanced Geometry, Discrete Math, and Precalculus.  Currently I am teaching both AB and BC Calculus.  In 2012 I was asked to take on the Computer Science A course.  With the help of TEALS I have been running a successful program including student who earned a perfect score on the AP Test (one of 10 in the world!).

Over the past 15 years I have been an instructor for the district teaching teachers how to use some of our technology tools.  I have earned my Masters Degree in Integrating Technology in the Classroom.
