A message from our Superintendent

Welcome to the new MSDB district webpage and school webpages! We hope you find them to be easy to navigate and just the right amount of helpful information to support you and your families.

We had a very busy and productive year during the 2021-2022 school year. Students worked hard to learn as much as they could while the teachers taught their hearts out bell-to-bell. The MSDB Leadership Team met each week to make collaborative decisions and planned with your child’s best interest in mind. We have a phenomenal support staff who was willing to go above and beyond anything asked or required of them. We were elated to at least have some normalcy post-COVID by playing every sport. It was a great year overall!

We’ve had a fantastic summer of learning and social/emotional development during our Extended School Year (ESY) Program. Thanks to staff and students for making ESY so successful! Our MSDB Leadership Team has met weekly this summer to plan for the coming year with anticipation and high expectations. Our maintenance, grounds, and custodial crews have worked tirelessly to make indoor/outdoor building repairs, manicure the campus, and beautifully wax every floor on campus. Great job crews!

I would like to encourage you to talk to your doctors about vaccination and/or boosters. If modifications to our plan are needed, we will notify you via email, social media, and our website.

I am honored to continue serving as your superintendent, and my number one priority will always be to keep staff and students safe and to ensure each child receives the highest quality education possible. Thank you for continuing to be an active partner with us in your child’s education, and I hope you all have a phenomenal 2022-2023 school year!

Dr. Jeremy Stinson completed his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi in 2011 where he studied the longitudinal effects of leadership in state-led early childhood programs on third grade reading achievement. With 22 years of experience in education, Dr. Stinson has served as seventh and eighth grade integrated science teacher, assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent in both South Panola and Lafayette County School Districts. Stinson has mentored resident principals and student teachers from three Mississippi universities and taught leadership classes as an adjunct professor at the University of Mississippi. Stinson most recently served as Ex-Officio Trustee for Mississippi and Director of the Mississippi Instructional Resource Center on the campus of the Mississippi Schools for the Deaf and the Blind. He and wife Sharon have one son, Carter, who is a senior at Northwest Rankin High School.
