Wanda Burns

I would like to welcome you to the Advanced Placement Calculus classes at MBHS, and I am looking forward to another successful but hard-working year. I have taught for 43 years, 41 years in AP Calculus, and I am an AP Calculus Reader.  I have high expectations for my students, both in class and on the AP exam that is administered in May. I will also prepare you for your college course of study and urge you to keep all of your high school calculus work for reference in college.

In my calculus classes, I will be using the TI-Nspire CX II CAS graphing calculator, and I will be presenting this calculator on the board in class.  It is a computer algebra system (CAS) which I strongly recommend for the class and the AP exam.  Since this is the calculator that I am using, I am able to troubleshoot some problems with this calculator.  You may use any calculator from the list on my web page; however, I may not be able to assist you in using it.

CALCULUS IMPROVES YOUR LIFE!

***  Since I am very busy during the mornings from 7:00 a.m. onward at the start of school with summer project reviews and calculator labs, I have decided to open up some time for students to get acquainted between 7:00 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. on the mornings when I return (July 31st) through when students return (Aug. 9th).  If you would like to get acquainted during those times, please email to be sure that I am free and not in a meeting.  I do not schedule appointments for these meetings as they might run over.  Be sure to bring your COMPLETED Personal Information Sheet and Just A Chat; if not, we won't meet.
