Mu Alpha Theta taps members in the spring of each year. Students who are invited to join must meet the following standards:

• Seniors: 3.5 average in mathematics courses; courses considered are Geometry, Algebra 1 with Probability, Algebra II with Statistics with present enrollment in Precalculus, Statistics, Finite Mathematics, or Calculus.
• Others: 4.0 average in mathematics courses; courses considered are Geometry, Algebra II with Statistics with present enrollment in Precalculus, Statistics, Finite Mathematics, or Calculus.
• Students must have a mathematics teacher's recommendation.
