Mrs. Amanda Johnson
Welcome to 5th Grade Science!
Amanda Johnson is the 5th grade STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) teacher. This year begins her 25th year of teaching, the past 16 have been at Crestline Elementary. She is a graduate of the University of Montevallo and has her National Board Certification in Middle Childhood education.

I am thrilled to have the privilege of teaching 5th grade science!
Exciting experiences lie ahead as we explore Matter and Energy in Organisms and Ecosystems, Earth's Systems, the Structures and Properties of Matter, and Space Systems: Stars and the Solar System. You will also have many opportunities to utilize the engineering design process to create, invent, and explore the world around us through challenges and Project Lead the Way, as well as the world of robotics! There are endless possibilities in much of what we study, so get ready, get set and bring your ideas, creativity, talents, and interests to the classroom as we become a very special community of learners. I look forward to a wonderful year!
