Kate Thompson is a 3rd grade English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher at Crestline Elementary School. She is thrilled to begin her fourth year at Crestline. This is her 7th year teaching; she taught 3rd grade in Nashville, Tennessee for three years before coming to CES. Kate received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Elementary Education from Auburn University, as well as receiving an international studies minor. War Eagle! She is currently getting her Educational Specialist degree at the University of North Alabama. 

She is passionate about helping her students become independent, confident learners and looks forward to an amazing year building strong, meaningful relationships with her students and watching them grow as amazing students and people. 

When Kate is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her husband Alex, their new puppy, Lucie, working out at True40, shopping, reading mystery books, hiking, going on walks with friends, drinking coffee and trying new restaurants around Birmingham.
