Mrs. Underwood

Mrs. Jamie Underwood teaches 6th grade language arts at Crestline Elementary School. She has taught upper elementary for 10 years, including the last 6 years in Mountain Brook.

As a language arts teacher, Mrs Underwood enjoys introducing her students to literature and advanced writing skills that instill a love of language and build a strong foundation for written communications throughout junior high, high school, and beyond. She believes strongly in the joy of learning and is always finding unique ways for students to engage in creative, and fun, learning opportunities.

Mrs. Underwood previously served Cherokee Bend as their Literacy Coach and taught at Cornerstone Schools of Alabama, and in the Gwinnett County School System in Atlanta. She is a graduate of Samford University with degrees in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education. As a life-long learner, she has also completed LETRS Science of Reading Training, and has Intermediate Certification from the Institute for Multi Sensory Instruction, in addition to her Gifted Education endorsement.

Mrs. Underwood lives in Homewood with her husband, CJ, and daughter Maggie (4). They enjoy traveling to the beach, spending time with family, and all things Disney princesses.
