My name is Mary Claire Shingleton and I am THRILLED to be spending another year in the Forest! I have taught First Grade and Kindergarten at BWF and this is my 4th year of teaching. I graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a bachelor's degree in elementary education in 2019.

In the classroom, I encourage my students to work their hardest but also to follow their curiosities and be silly! We spend lots of time playing outside, creating art, singing, dancing, studying nature, and just enjoying being together. 

Outside of school, I love to spend time with my 6-year-old son, walk my dogs, and go swimming. I also love to read, write, cook, and sing. Although we don't cheer for one specific team, my family LOVES to watch all kinds of sports. We also love to spend time at the river and go on fun weekend trips.
