Cuba is home to the smallest bird in the world, the bee hummingbird--in Spanish el zunzuncito or zunzun. The bee hummingbird weighs less than a dime and it can flap its wings up to 200 times per second!

The smallest frog in the Northern Hemisphere lives in Cuba. The Monte Iberia frog's body is only 1 centimeter long.  It's among the smallest frogs in the whole world.

Cuba is the only country in the world that has a double currency system. That means they have 2 different types of money.

Cuba is known for its unique music style. Both Spanish and African music greatly influenced Cuban music. Some of the popular traditional music styles of Cuba include mambo, cha-cha-cha, charanga, danzón, rumba, and others. Salsa evolved from a blend of these rhythms.
