This marks Mrs. Black's sixth year at Crestline Elementary and her twelfth year teaching overall. Although born in Savannah, GA, she had the privilege of growing up in Sewanee, TN, Saint Simon's Island, GA, Cullman, AL, and Asheville, NC.  She attended East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2012 and is considered a Highly Qualified Teacher.  Prior to Crestline, Mrs. Black taught first grade in Charlotte, NC for six years. 

When she isn't planning for the school week ahead, she enjoys spending time with her family at Smith Lake.  She also enjoys trying new local restaurants, traveling, and visiting her parents at the beach. 

Mrs. Black is committed to challenging children academically and creating a nurturing classroom environment conducive to learning and self-exploration.
