Please join us for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new SJCC Extension at Milpitas. This exciting event is the result of many years of collaboration between SJECCD and Milpitas Unified School District to bring college courses to the residents of Milpitas and surrounding areas. Refreshments will be served at 4:00 and program will begin at 4:15.
A public hearing on the charter petition renewal for Rocketship Brilliant Minds and Rocketship Si Se Puede charter schools is scheduled to take place at the October 19, 2016, meeting of the Santa Clara County Board of Education. The hearing is scheduled to begin at approximately 5:00 p.m. at the Santa Clara County Office of Education, 1290 Ridder Park Drive, San Jose, CA 95131.
As set forth in Education Code § 47605(b), the hearing shall be “a public hearing on the provisions of the charter,” at which time the County Board of Education shall “consider the level of support for the petition by teachers employed by the district, other employees of the district, and parents.” There will be time allotted for petitioners, district representatives, and members of the public to speak. Additionally, this item will be placed on the November 16, 2016, board agenda for a decision. Budget Priorities Survey Encuesta Sobre el Presupuesto Zanker students and parents convened last week for an evening of teamwork alongside principals, coordinators, and teachers to look at English Learner progress data and to learn how students can become fluent in English. Principal Lee and Assistant Principal Padilla created an environment to ensure that our EL students and parents felt valued and included. They shared how we're all a team (students, parents, teachers and administrators) involved in supporting student success, and how we're dedicated to adult education for parents. Our Culture of We is one in which all are working together to support every student on his or her journey to fluency in English. |
