Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) is a free home visitation, parent involvement, school readiness program that helps parents prepare their two, three, and four year old children for success in school and beyond. HIPPY is a research-based program that helps empower parents as their child's first teacher by giving them the tools, skills, and confidence they need to work with their child in their home. Early childhood education provides long-term benefits for children, their families, and our community. By enabling parents to become actively involved in their children's education, HIPPY increases success for children in elementary school and beyond.
Just 15 minutes a day provides:
- Increased bonding between parent and child
- Deeper understanding on how children learn
- Improved school readiness
- Enhanced relationships with schools and teachers
HIPPY Programs are designed to build on a parent's existing strengths as their child's first educator. The program is structured around a 30-week fun curriculum that includes easy-to-use activity packets and story books. It is focused on language development, math readiness, science activities, and other school readiness skills. This program will be delivered to your home by a trained parent educator who will support you in your role as your child's first teacher.
