When applying for a job, the application says that I am not authorized to apply.
There could be several different issues:
Make sure that you have the correct job type selected (Certified, Classified, Administrative). You can select more than one.
Is Madison City Schools selected as a place you would like to work?
Please make sure that your application is complete by click ing on the check mark.

Can I apply for more than one job at a time?
Yes. First you must have a completed online application on file. Next, send in a letter of interest and resume to the contact person for the job or jobs for which you are applying. After the job closing date, the contact person will notify those they wish to interview.

I do not have access to a computer, how can I apply online?

I was fingerprinted in another state, can't you just use those results?
No. The law requires that a complete background check be done through the State Department of Education in Alabama.

What kind of background checks do you do?
The Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 requires that you sign a form allowing us to check your criminal history with the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. We also require a fingerprint check.
The background check is not required until you are officially hired by the Board of Education. You will be notified of the correct procedure to follow at that time. -
What do I need to turn in for my file to be complete?
All you need to do is to fill out the application itself.
Please do NOT submit any photos, copies of driver's licenses, social security cards, TB tests, or transcripts, you may scan those into your online application but we do not retain paper copies in the office, everything is now on-line -
What kind of references do I need?
If you are applying for a position you need three (3) letters of reference from your most recent employers or others who know your qualifications. In your on-line application, you must provide (3) email addresses for us to contact those references.
