- Student Success and Expectations

ACCESS courses are available to all Alabama students in grades 7 - 12. It has been shown that successful students:
- have a willingness to work hard
- can work independently as well as collaboratively
- have good communication skills
- have a good sense of academic integrity
- manage their time wisely
- are not afraid to ask questions
- have support from parents and other stakeholders
Students are expected to:
- follow ACCESS policies as outlined in the ACCESS Student Policy Manual
- follow teacher expections as outlined in the course syllabus
- follow the pacing guide as outlined in Course Information
- work daily in the course by reading lessons and participate in learning activities, such as discussions, quizzes, projects, labs and group work
- read course Updates daily to stay updated on teacher announcements, changes in course assignments, or additional instruction provided
- ask detailed questions when coursework is not understood
- do their own work unless otherwise specified by the teacher
