Jeffrey Stratton
SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEMBER
Jeff Stratton was born and raised in Pocatello, Idaho, where his parents put a high value on family and education. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, Jeff earned a Master of Arts in Mathematics with a statistics emphasis from the University of Montana. This led him to a six-year career as a mathematical statistician with the US Census Bureau in Washington DC. It was here where he met his wife, Brandi, a fellow mathematical statistician.
The couple moved to New England in 2005 for Jeff's education. Jeff attended and earned a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Connecticut in 2011, specializing in methods for dealing with missing data. The Strattons finally settled in Massachusetts when Jeff accepted a postdoctoral position with the Five Colleges. At this time, his wife started teaching math at Ludlow High School. After seeing the education in Ludlow from the inside, the Strattons decided to make Ludlow their home for the education of their children. Shortly after the move, Jeff took a position with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Engines in East Hartford and has been there ever since.
Jeff and his wife have had their three children in the Ludlow Schools since 2013 when their twins were 3. They had five years of experience with the Special Education Dept as parents. Including Mrs. Stratton's tenure at the high school, the Strattons have experienced all the schools in Ludlow, including the new Harris Brook Elementary School.
This is Dr. Stratton's first public office. He’s excited to bring his expertise with data-driven decisions to questions facing the Ludlow Public Schools. He intends to be a reasonable voice for the students, the teachers, and the residents of Ludlow.
