COLLEEN HENNESSEY

SECONDARY SPECIAL EDUCATION SUPERVISOR

Colleen Hennessey has been the LHS Secondary Special Education Supervisor since January 2022. She comes to the Ludlow Public Schools with 22 years of experience in the field of Public School Special Education. 

Hennessey earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from UMass Amherst, a Masters in the Art of Teaching from Elms College, and post-graduate credits from Framingham State University. In 2000 she began work as an SLPA and then a few years later was hired as a Language Learning Disabilities teacher. She later became a District Reading consultant/mentor and in 2013 was tapped to be a Special Education Coordinator/Supervisor.

Hennessey's educational philosophy is embedded in the belief that the most important role for all educators and administrators is to advocate and support all students to ensure each student receives equal access to the curriculum and is an equal member of the school community.
