    Meeting called to order 7:03am

    Members in attendance:  Rhonda Wright, Ruth Seedall, Nicole Oksness, Rachel Merkley, Matt Fuller, Wyatt McDaniel, Monica Edelmayer, Phil Morris, Deedra Hinds, Jim Crosbie, Gordon Geddes, Shannon Walker, Mike Isaacson, Ruthie Hamilton, Rory Anderson, Julie Olson

    Motion to approve minutes from January meeting:  Matt Fuller, seconded by Nicole Oksness, unanimous approval by members

     

    Welcome Jim Crosbie:  GC has had a great year!  Next year GC will have 110 fewer incoming students than the number of students graduating this month.  We do have some school choice and transfer students.  We have five teachers retiring or moving on from GC and are losing two FTEs this coming year.  There have been some new hires as coaches and staff for the coming year.  With the changes, the schedule is still being sorted out.  Terri brought up that we do not have a registered candidate for the upcoming School Board election for the area of North Logan/Hyde Park and suggested the importance of a strong write in candidates for the position.   

     

    Trust Lands Plan:

    The plan is approved!  State goal is stream line to one sentence as requested.  Currently, we have 39% of the 2023-2024 budget remaining.  Money has been spent, it is still being processed. In the next month we should be down to the required 10% or less carry over.  

     

    Graduation:

    May 29, 1pm.   Seniors will be done with regular classes the Friday before graduation.  In the past, there has been a pack celebration or counseling BBQ to hand out certificates and recognition for scholarships and admission to universities.  This year, the process is delayed and universities are sending recognition to the students directly so it will be condensed this year.    Tuesday will be an awards assembly for Seniors and then yearbook distribution to all students, and Wednesday a short day for all students and graduation.  Wednesday night there is a senior party put on by parents, held at but not hosted by the school.  



    Next Year’s Community Council:

    Rhonda Wright is the only parent not returning.  Two people expressed interest in being on the council next year, no election was required and they will both be joining us.
