    *Ryan Webb is the new Assistant Principal taking Andy Lund's place who moved to Spring Creek.

     

    1. Review of Budget

    1. Most money has been paid out in salaries for the current teacher & paraprofessionals -The Parent teacher liaison Maria Hunsaker is paid through the para budget

    2. There is still money for conferences that many teachers will be attending in the Spring

    3. We used money to bus the Discovery Class

    4. There is still room for more Tech/Chrome books and also software updates

    1. Safety Audit and Discussion

      1. Parents: Biggest concern is Kids are safe and learn well.

      2. The school paid for an independent Safety Site evaluation which looked at prevention and physical safety.

      3. Most importantly we want to create a culture of safety - Kids know kids best and need to be comfortable enough to talk to adults if they feel another kid needs help.

      4. The team has decided to continue to train office and staff and administrators on the school's techniques for safety protocols. 

      5. Things to work on: safety for accidents (in the parking lot)-is there procedures? Do we need to up the health counseling on anti-bullying 

    2. Testing

      1. ACT Juniors will be taking the test on March 7th with Sophomores taking the practice at the same time. It will all be online this year.

      2. Aspire - for two weeks in April the kids will take the aspire tests in the morning with extended flex. 

        1. District is sending home letters about the importance of the Aspire testing as a practice to ACT’s and a guide for helping plan students' personal high school schedules to cover areas they need help with.

    3. Future River Hawk Night -8th Graders are invited to attend January 30th to meet teachers and coaches, get a tour of the school, and learn how to be involved in clubs and when sport sign ups are.

    4. Counselor Minute: Registration meetings are starting to happen to plan students next year schedules.
