    3. Principal Foster’s Update
      1. Review of School trustland plan goal.  Student scores on the ACT, AP, CTE will be at or above the level shown in the measurement section by May 20/21.  ACT measure was 21.9, AP 72%, CTE 80%.  Action plan was to hire 2 or more aides, a success coordinator, hold school wide department PLC meetings, sending staff to PLC, grading or other conferences, hire a vista intern, provide afterschool tutoring for students, send minority students to a diversity day at a university and providing supplies for improving their performance, class size reduction, hire a special ed aide, and purchase grade cam with writing recognition.
      2. From the above list Ridgeline has hired the EL aides, flex secretary, flex aide, the success coordinator position was filled with a certified math teacher who will help to meet the needs of the students (she is here for Flex and one period after Flex).  Department meetings and coordination was held throughout the summer and will continue after school hours.  Conferences may need to be virtual, given the current circumstances.  The Vista intern has been hired.  After school tutoring is available after school in math.  Diversity Days may also need to be virtual, but that is yet to be seen.  Class size reduction money is enough to pay for one full time teacher.  Special Ed Aide has been hired.  Grade cams have already been purchased.
      3. Our test results:  AP 80%, ACT 22.9 composite mean (entire school), no CTE data available
      4. Other updates:  non essential activities are limited due to COVID.
      5. Homecoming week:  Assembly, powderpuff game, homecoming game, no dance or parade.  They are hoping to have some sort of fun activity.
      6. COVID- as of September 7, 67 students in quarantine due to exposure, not all resulted from being at school.  3 students with a positive test result, the infection was not as a result of school activity.
    4. Counselor’s update:
      1. Counseling efforts due to the medical incident and death of Braden Mathews.  4 social workers from the district crisis response team came to the school.  Additionally, Bear River mental health and counselors throughout the district were brought in.  Students had the same statement read to them on the 2 mornings following the incident during their first period classes.  Research shows this is the best method for informing and assessing students.  Efforts were made to be aware of upset students.  Students, teachers and staff were able to counsel anyone who wanted to talk.  A counselor from Ridgeline’s team followed Branden’s schedule and talked to the classes that he was a student of to have a discussion on coping strategies.  September is national sucide prevention month, Ridgeline will do a week of coping strategies during lunch.  Possibly a puppy petting zoo and bubbles.
      2. Filling the gap project will be reported next time.
      3. When there is not enough enrollment in the spring (less than 20) then classes will not be available in the fall.  Spring registration is very important.  Funding is based on classes of 30.
    5. Other:
      1. Health guidelines are mandated by the state board of education as far as the school is concerned.
    6. Next meeting October 13, 7 a.m.
