2. COVID-19 pertinent updates, Trust lands updates, events, etc. – Principal Foster
34% of this year’s Trust Land budget is remaining of which $39,000 will be spent on
salaries/benefits, $2,000 for substitutes, $3,000 for teacher training, $1,000 for supplies. The
$3,000 allotted for teacher travel will be carried over for next year as well as the unused $1,000
allotted for the digital citizenship, which we did not use. Because of the soft closure of school
this year due to the corona virus, we are allowed to carry over more than the normal 10% of
this year’s budget monies for next year’s plan.
Student council election are now complete with a high percent of student votes compared to
what we have had in the past. Cheer and drill team tryouts were held virtually last week. Class
officer packets were available for students to download with elections to be held next week.
Student campaigns will be posting on canvas and RHS social media accounts. During the
school’s soft closure, teacher and staff are working remotely, school secretary and an
administrator normally are at the school a few hours a day. School is preparing for worst case
scenario of schools staying closed for the rest of the year and how classes, graduation will play
out.
3. Update from Counseling office – Alex Hansen
Working from home, counselors are still finishing student registration for next year. Counselors
are also working with parents and students who are struggling with online school and seniors
trying to meet graduation requirements. Finalizing registration for next year has been a
challenge without students here at the school. Holly asked if there was anything we could do to
help with aiding the school with the unique situation this soft closure has caused. Brittany and
Alex responded that they will keep this is mind and let her know. Alex added that Regency
scholars will continue and there will be no changes to this program for next school year.
Future agenda items- TSSA (additional money given by legislature) Brittany stated that she
will hopefully have an amount for the next meeting.Next Meeting: May 12, 2020, 7:00 a.m.
