School Community Council

  • Every public school has a School Community Council (SCC). The membership of this committee includes the principal, teachers elected by teachers, and a majority of parents elected by parents of students at the school. This council makes decisions about the funds the school receives from the School LAND Trust Program. The council may also act as an advisory board for any topics related to the functions of the school, such as reviewing the Teacher and Student Success Act (TESSA) plan and school safety plans.

At Lincoln, we value parent engagement as a critical component and the driving force behind our School Community Council. Parents act as the advocates for all children, and help to ensure that various viewpoints from the community are represented. Parents serve as the chair and vice-chair of our council committee. The public is welcome to attend all meetings.

Our School Community Council works collaboratively to develop and approve school improvement plans and allocate funds. Lincoln has a very supportive Community Council. Each fall we are in need of additional parents to join our council. If you are interested in serving on the School Community Council, please email me at audrey.mckell@ccsdut.org.
