Mr. Hernandez currently serves as the elementary principal. His primary responsibilities include providing strategic direction in the school system, ensuring student safety, monitoring student achievement, encouraging parent involvement, assessing teaching methods, and hiring and supervising staff. Prior to joining the LAE staff in 2015 as an assistant principal, Mr. Hernandez worked in the Dallas ISD for 6 years. He served as a teacher, department chair, LPAC Chair, and mentor teacher.

Mr. Hernandez is a native Texan and frequently visits his family in El Paso. He enjoys traveling in his free time. He's an avid supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.
