School History

La Academia de Estrellas Charter School began serving students in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas in August of 2006. Originally housed inside rented space from Cliff Temple Baptist Church (CTBC), the school moved into its Kiest building in January of 2015. The school's enrollment has grown from 270 students to over 1,000 students in its 15 years of operation. In addition, employee numbers have increased with enrollment, and currently, over 130 full-time employees call La Academia de Estrellas Charter School their work home.

LAE's main campus on Kiest serves students from Kinder through 8th grade, and this campus houses the charter offices. In addition, the Early Childhood Center (ECC), located on Hampton Road, provides a half day program for three year old students and a full day program for four year old students.

La Academia de Estrellas Charter School completed 15 years of operation in May of 2021, and with the renewal of the charter in 2020, the school will continue to serve the community for years to come.

School Vision

A strong educational foundation is the key to success for all students. Quality education levels the playing field and enables all students to reach their greatest potential. Instruction must be tailored to the needs of the students and should provide opportunities that take the learner beyond the school walls. Furthermore, students and their parents play an active role in the learning process, participating willingly in a risk-free environment, guided by nurturing, knowledgeable and effective teachers and administrators.

School Mission

La Academia de Estrellas Charter School will be a premier public charter school where students become life-long learners who actively participate in their own learning, remain engaged in the educational process and show mastery of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) at each grade level.
