2021 KHS Summer Drama Camp

Kearney, Mo., June 21, 2021: Future stars can get their start during the 2021 Kearney High School Drama Camp.

This year’s camp will be held Monday, Aug. 2, and Tuesday, Aug. 3, in the high school auditorium. Registration is open to all youth who are entering grades 1-12. The cost is $40 per child, which includes a camp t-shirt. Download the registration form to learn more and sign-up your child today:

Students will participate in small groups and work through the following activities:

  • Making props and learning about stage makeup/hair and costumes
  • Touring the KHS theaters, dressing rooms and set-building rooms
  • Improvisation and acting stations where they can learn and hone their on-stage skills
  • Learning a musical number that they will perform for parents

The camp is an opportunity for theater veterans at KHS to help teach younger students, according to Drama Director Wendy Fish. Camp fees will also help fund future high school theater productions.

“All of these activities will be guided by our very own members of the theater program,” Ms. Fish said. “This camp will not only be a fun, cost-friendly way to make money for our next show, but is also a way to share the love of musical theater with young stars-to-be. Gain confidence and learn basic theater skills!”
