Twilight Program
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley Twilight Education Project offers an educational program that is FREE, after-work, and provides transportation and child care.
Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm, school-age children receive tutoring in English literacy, homework help, and computer lab access. Toddler siblings participate in the Boys & Girls Club's nationally accredited preschool program, which also focuses on English literacy. At the same time, parents/guardians are nearby learning Community Based English, a curriculum that focuses on teaching proficiency in speaking and reading language associated with safety, medical care, transportation, and work.
Community Partners: Huntington Beach Adult School, Fountain Valley School District, Golden West College, and Ocean View School District.
Supporters of the Twilight Education Project include the Orange County Transportation Authority, Surf City Rotary Club of Huntington Beach, the Haynes Fund, the Therese Plunkett Foundation, the Wells Fargo Foundation and Second Harvest Food Bank's Kids Cafe program.
