Social-Emotional Screening

Beyond just teaching academics, schools can foster students’ development in their relationships, emotional skills, and overall well-being.  Social-emotional skills are critical for students of all ages to be successful academically as well as in their lives and relationships.  Huntington Beach City School District (HBCSD) piloted the use of universal social-emotional screening for grades 2 and 6 during the 2021-22 school year.  For the 2022-23 school year, we are expanding the screening to all students in grades K-8.
