The Preschool Program is housed at the Hildreth Elementary School and is designed as a special education integrated preschool program. Our classes serve children between the ages of three and five who require special education programming as well as their typically-developing peers.
Instruction is delivered in a developmentally-appropriate manner and focuses on a variety of skill areas including: language, phonemic and phonological awareness, early literacy skills, gross motor, fine motor, math, science, social studies, and social skills. The curricula are aligned with the Massachusetts Frameworks for Preschool, which focus on readiness skills for Kindergarten. Services are provided by highly-skilled and qualified teachers and related service providers. Learning Assistants supports each classroom. Ratios are determined by the needs of the students within each classroom.
For the 2024-2025 school year, the program will operate Monday - Friday in two half-day sessions (9:00-11:45 and 12:45-3:30) and generally follows the HES school calendar.
