Mrs. Elizabeth Silvers

My name is Elizabeth, but I have gone by Libby since my Kindergarten years. My mother was asked to give me a nickname because I couldn't fit my name on my paper. I began working in childcare when my youngest child started school and discovered that it was my passion. I began college at 35 when all 3 of my children were in school. I graduated with my degree in Elementary Education with my oldest son graduating from High School. My oldest son, Justin, went to be with the Lord in 2011. My son Kevin is a welder, and my youngest, Jennifer, is a pet groomer in Tennessee. My only grandchildren are fur babies. My husband Bob is retired and is a big help to me in the classroom.

I have an Associate's in Early Childhood Education from CSTCC, Chattanooga State Technical Community College, a Bachelor's in Elementary Education from UTC, the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, and a Master in Curriculum and Instruction with Technology from GCU, Grand Canyon University. I taught PRE-K for 10, was a reading interventionist for 9 years, and then began teaching full-time in an Elementary school in 2009 while finishing my Master's in Education. I moved to Alabama from Tennessee in 2015 and began teaching at Burleson in 2017 after a year and a half of subbing in Hartselle Schools.
