Meet the Teacher

  • Hello! My name is Virginia Karanfilian and I am a 4th grade teacher at Richardson D. White Elementary School.

I have worked at our wonderful school since 1989 and I have taught both 4th and 5th grades here. Prior to R.D. White I taught 1st and 2nd grades in New York City, and I also taught Kindergarten, 2nd, 5th, 6th, and GATE classes in Bergen County, New Jersey.  I have received a Bachelor of Arts  Degree in Liberal Arts from Hunter College, City of New York, and a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration from St.Peter's College in New Jersey. I am fully credentialed and licensed as a teacher in California, New Jersey, and New York. I have an Administrative Credential in New Jersey. I served as a School Administrator for 4 years in New Jersey. I live in Glendale, and both my son and daughter went to school here. I have 4 beautiful grandchildren and two of them go to Glendale schools. My experiences with the students and parents of our school community have enriched my life. I have formed many close friendships as a result of those experiences. I believe that all children can and should become valuable members of our society through their school experiences. I believe each child is a unique individual. Thank you for giving me the privilege of working with your child.
