My name is Linda Aftandilian. I am proud to be working at the best school in Glendale, R.D. White Elementary! I started my teaching career as an assistant in GUSD 25 years ago. In my 19 years of teaching I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade, but the last 9 years have been the best teaching years of my life becuase I have been teaching alongside my wonderful partner teacher, Ms. Vartanian. We have created the most dynamic teaching team because both of us have combined our strengths to create a creative, exciting, and fun classroom. I have a Masters in Education in the field of Language Arts and Ms. Vartanian has her Masters in Education in the field of Mathematics. Students in our class have the rare opportunity to experience two different teaching styles with one goal in mind...learning all they need to know to be successful 3rd graders! Our smallest class has been 40 students and our largest has been 52! No matter how many students we have, each year we challange ourselves to better our teaching practices so that by the end of the year we see our students' success.

I am very lucky to have a wonderful husband and two wonderful children. My daughter just started high school and my son is a 5th grader. My biggest pleasure in life is to spend time with my husband and my two children. As a family we love sports. Both my children play basketball and my son also plays soccer. As a family we love to follow USC football. If we have the opportunity we travel to local venues to watch their games. In my free time I like to read books, spend time with friends, shop with my daughter and sister, and cook with my husband and children. I love the ocean and if opportunity permits I love to cruise to different destinations.
