  • Glendale Unified School District is preparing for the careful and deliberate return of students for on-campus instruction
at all elementary schools by the end of March. In order to maintain proper physical distancing, Glendale Unified elementary schools will operate on a hybrid schedule. Students returning for in-person learning will alternate between on-campus and distance learning in small cohorts. The District will offer a full-time distance learning option for the remainder of the school year for all families who choose not to return to campus.
Child care in the District’s Technology Learning Pods will continue to be available on days when students are distance learning.

  • In this video, you can see live, concurrent instruction with students who are distance learning and students who are learning from the classroom. You can also see how our amazing teacher utilizes small group rotations to focus on students in the classroom and students who are distance.

  • Our amazing teachers at Mann have been successfully implementing a hybrid instructional model since TK and Kindergarten students returned for on-campus instruction in January with a district waiver. Students who chose to return are physically distanced in the classroom and those who chose to continue distance learning from home can be seen engaging on Zoom. We look forward to implementing a similar instructional model at elementary schools across our district soon!
