Meet the Artists

  • Each school year, the Art Reps teach the kids about 3 artists. Below are some examples of the artwork the kids have created over the years.

  • Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin was a French post-Impressionist artist. Unappreciated until after his death, Gauguin is now recognized for his experimental use of color and Synthetist style that were distinctly different from Impressionism.

Frida Kahlo

  • Frida Kahlo de Rivera was a Mexican artist who painted many portraits, self-portraits, and works inspired by the nature and artifacts of Mexico.

Toulouse-Lautrec

  • Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was a French painter, printmaker, draftsman, and illustrator, whose immersion in the decadent and theatrical life of fin de siecle Paris yielded an oeuvre of provocative images of modern life.

Paul Klee

  • Paul Klee was a Swiss German artist. His highly individual style was influenced by movements in art that included Expressionism, Cubism, and Surrealism.
