A Little About Myself:

I have been teaching for Glendale Unified at John Marshall for the past 27 years. I have taught Kindergarten first, second and fourth grade at Marshall, as well as several intervention courses.

Kindergarten

My true passion is teaching Kindergarten because it is the first experience in school many children have had.  I am honored to share in the journey of becoming kind and compassionate citizens as well as starting them on their way to becoming lifelong learners.

I also had the privilege to work for Pepperdine University's Graduate School of Education where I taught several graduate courses along with being a field supervisor for student teachers. I had the honor to observe and mentor forty plus aspiring teachers, several whom I am proud to say were hired by Glendale Unified.

My Family:  Traber

I have been happily married to my high school sweetheart, Kevin for the past 26 years. We are active in our community, our church and with our three sons: Alec (25), Gavin (22) and Andrew (19). Our family is a true product of the Glendale Unified School District as my husband and I as well as our boys attended: Monte Vista Elementary, Rosemont Middle School and Crescenta Valley High School.

My Education:

Pepperdine Logo

After high school graduation, I attended Pepperdine Universtiy in Malibu, CA. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in 1991 and my Master’s Degree in 1993 from Pepperdine University. I have a California Clear Credential, a Language Development Specialist Credential and I am NCLB (No Child Left Behind) compliant.

My Passions:

I love to read, travel and to scrapbook, which I never find time to do anymore. I play tennis, attend yoga classes and am learning to golf. As a lifelong learner, I especially enjoy learning about history of our country as well as how to protect and care for animals and our environment.  Most of all I truly treasure the time with my friends and family!
