Student Accident Insurance

Each year, the Glendale Unified School District provides parents with information regarding optional supplemental accident insurance for students attending our schools. Although the District always takes steps to protect your children, this insurance option is available. Parents that do not have health insurance are encouraged to consider supplemental accident insurance for their children. For parents who have health insurance policies that cover their children, you are encouraged to review the benefits of this coverage as a supplement to your existing policy. This is a supplemental insurance. Any amount payable by your primary insurance provider will be subtracted from the covered expenses and the supplemental insurance will pay benefits based on the remaining amount of the loss. Please take the time to carefully read and understand what benefits supplemental accident insurance has to offer and review the exclusions and other limitations provided in the brochure.

Please note that the Glendale Unified School District has no financial ties with Myers-Stevens Company and receives no financial benefit from them. To enroll, please visit www.myers-stevens.com; instructions for enrollment are available on the website. While your child is eligible to enroll at any time, pay rates for the accident medical plans and Dental Accident Plan are the same regardless of enrollment date. Once processing is completed, an ID card verifying coverage will be mailed to your home.
